For today’s tutorial, I’ll review some of the Q&A from Tuesday’s webinar.
Q: Does a file stay in RAW mode after processing in Snapseed (or other programs).
A: No. Like in Photoshop or any processing program, a RAW format is the camera’s capture format. A file cannot be saved in RAW after processing. Some phone apps allow saving as a TIF file, but most save as a JPG file.
Q: I was asked how I moved images from my phone to computer or moved my logo image from computer to phone.
A: If you’re a Mac computer and iPhone/iPad, you can just use Airdrop. Another viewer mentioned she uses PhotoSync to transfer files. I have an iPhone/iPad but am a PC user. I use a handy item called a DuoLink (it plugs into my Apple device on one end and has a USB plug on the other end for the computer) – SEE IT HERE
COMMENT: One of the apps I demonstrated was Stackables. It seems that this app has been retired (bummer!). It seems to have been replaced by “Formulas – Photo Lab Effects and Custom Frames”….however, this app has not been updated in 5 years, so it may not be a good replacement for newer phones and updated operating systems! I also demonstrated Mextures, which was updated 6 months ago (some comments on the app mention that it is slow – I have no problem on my iPhone 8+ or my iPad).
COMMENT: Another great app – that I didn’t mention in the webinar – is iColorama. It is extremely powerful, though a bit involved to learn (I don’t know enough about it yet to teach it!). It’s one of the things on my “to do” list (why does that list seem to get longer instead of shorter?!).
