Around the Web/Tutorial Thursday

I got busy yesterday and didn’t get the blog out, so I’m doing a combo today of yesterday’s “Around the Web” and tomorrow’s “Tutorial Thursday”! Enjoy!

PHOTOGRAPHY

From PictureCorrect: “Wide-Angle Lens Tips for Landscape Photography”, “Why Photography is Such A Great Hobby” (we knew that!), “How to Hold A Camera for Sharp Photos”, “Tripods and Tripod Alternatives”, “Focal Points: The Smallest Most Important Elements in a Photograph”, “How to Capture Really Sharp Photos”

FREEBIES

From CreativeNerds: “Soft Clouds Free Photoshop Brushes”

I was scanning through a few older files of images yesterday and found this fall tree image. Nothing spectacular to be sure. So I thought, I wonder if I can replicate an “in-camera swipe” in Photoshop. Answer = YES! Used the Motion Blur Filter then made slight adjustments to Levels and Saturation. Voila!

  1. Sooo, are you going to show how you did the motion blur of the autumn trees in a video? I would like to see how you did that. I can’t find any link that shows. Mary Hulett

    1. Hi Mary – it’s super simple! Select the layer you want to blur. Go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur > set angle to 90 degrees and just move the slider till you like how it looks. 🙂
