Hi everyone! Another month has flown by! March means Spring is closer – and on Thursday I’ll be heading to Maryland/Delaware for the Horizon Photography Summit 4th-6th! If you’re in the area it’s not too late to register! Go to http://www.horizonworkshops.com/summit/ for all the details!
This week’s “Sunday Sampler” is a combination of textures I photographed and a texture created with filters in Photoshop. I am also giving you the instructions so you can re-create this texture yourself, and then you can modify the color to create a whole library of subtle grunge textures! In the instructions I tell you how to create a subtle vignette as well to darken the edges – you can skip this step if you prefer (or add it after applying the texture to an image). Enjoy!
Some other goodies for the week!
As you know, there is a TON of info on the web regarding just about every subject, including Photoshop. Creative Beacon did a post the other day of “The 10 Best Photoshop Tutorial Sites”. I must say I have seen many of these, but there are a few that are new to me as well. They are all worth a look!
It is also worth signing up for the emails from Creative Beacon – they always have great info, tutorials, and more (and they will not inundate you with email – usually about once a week or so). Poke around their site a bit too – tons of useful info.
Reminder – Workshop photographing old cars (and textures!) April 16th, 9-1.
Don’t forget to sign up to join us at our workshop photographing old cars in Massachusetts, $40 per person. Details and sign up info on the website at: www.MeredithImages.com/Products.
